The 20010/11 season represents the fifth year of the coach mentoring program. This program is aimed directly at addressing the shortage of female soccer coaches while promoting coaching development at the grassroots level of the NSGSC. Honorariums will be extended to qualifying player mentors who are selected to develop their coaching skills. The program has funding to allow 30 player mentors and will run until August 2011.
The increase in the size of this program demonstrates the commitment NSGSC is prepared to make to identify and develop female coaches within our own association. The NSGSC believes that this development should be a mandate for all women’s amateur sports associations. A mentoring committee has been established to manage and evaluate the program. Details of the project follow:
North Shore Girls Soccer Club Player and Team Mentor Program
